RESIDENTS OF KENNETT VOTED IN A PARISH REFERENDUM ON 2 JUNE 2005 ON THE FOLLOWING MOTION:

Do you agree to the new town development being promoted in Forest Heath by London Development company Orion Land/Watermark on approx 600 acres of open countryside between Kentford, Kennett, Herringswell and Red Lodge, owned by the Mays-Smith and Kiddy Trusts"?

A UNANIMOUS RESULT WITH A 50% TURNOUT AND 92% AGAINST THE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL.

Kennett Parish, unlike Herringswell, Tuddenham and Kentford whose Parishes fall under Forest Heath District Council, are under East Cambridgeshire District Council. Even so they felt it was important for them to hold this Referendum to show they are also totally against this unwanted development.


KENTFORD RESIDENTS VOTE IN PARISH REFERENDUM

Residents of Kentford voted in a parish referendum on 20 April 2005 on the following motion:

"Do you agree to the new town development being promoted in Forest Heath by London Development company Orion Land/Watermark on approx 600 acres of open countryside between Kentford, Kennett, Herringswell and Red Lodge, owned by the Mays-Smith and Kiddy Trusts"?

A DECIDEDLY UNANIMOUS RESULT WITH A 98.95% AGAINST THE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL


TUDDENHAM ST MARY RESIDENTS VOTE IN PARISH REFERENDUM

Residents of Tuddenham St Mary voted in a parish referendum on 18 April 2005 on the following motion:

"Do you agree to the new town development being promoted in Forest Heath by London Development company Orion Land/Watermark on approx 600 acres of open countryside between Kentford, Kennett, Herringswell and Red Lodge, owned by the Mays-Smith and Kiddy Trusts"?

TURNOUT WAS AN INCREDIBLE 45% OF THE ELECTORAL ROLE - HIGHER THAN ANY OTHER LOCAL ELECTION - WITH AN OVERWHELMING 96% AGAINST THE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL.


HERRINGSWELL RESIDENTS VOTE IN PARISH REFERENDUM

Residents of Herringswell turned out in force on 3 March 2005, to vote in a parish referendum on the following motion:

"Do you agree to the new town development being promoted in Forest Heath by London Development company Orion Land/Watermark on approx 600 acres of open countryside between Kentford, Kennett, Herringswell and Red Lodge, owned by the Mays-Smith and Kiddy Trusts"?

TURNOUT WAS A MASSIVE 61% OF THE ELECTORAL ROLE - HIGHER THAN ANY OTHER LOCAL ELECTION - WITH A UNANIMOUS 100% AGAINST THE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL
